2015 Erasmus+ K103
Our University College Henallux has been participating in the Erasmus programme for many years and has now built a large and solid range of partnerships not only inside the EU but also throughout the world. By signing the Erasmus charter, Henallux has confirmed that its participation to the programme is definitely part of its modernization and internationalization strategies. Thanks to the mobility rate of its students and staff members and thanks to its participation to European and international cooperation projects Henallux constantly improves the quality of its own teaching programmes.
90 students took advantage of a mobility (59 for mobility programmes and 31 for placement mobilities); 60 are female students and 30 are male students. 3 students come from families with social difficulties. The mobilities took place in the whole Europe. The big amount of students going to Finland, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands can be explained by the wide range of courses offered in English and by the national culture of these countries, which our students are fond of.
The Henallux strategy shows that some students and staff members look for a complete change of scenery whereas others prefer keeping their landmarks. In order to cope with these various expectations , Henallux offers the students and staff a very wide range of host institutions and very diverse possibilities in pedagogical , linguistic, cultural , environmental and social fields. After these exchanges the students can better cope with the values of different cultures, they can plan and learn more independently and find solutions in stimulating and sometimes difficult situations. They can also deal with people from different cultures and horizons., they can get used more easily to new situations, are more self-confident, more open-minded and more tolerant towards other people’s behaviour. They know their strengths and weaknesses better.
26 staff members took part in a mobility programme. (14 for a teaching mobility and 12 for a training mobility). These mobilities enable staff members to improve their job satisfaction, their social, linguistic and cultural skills, learn the good practices observed abroad and enlarge their professional network. Moreover, these mobilities enable them to strengthen the cooperation with the partners and gain specific skills for their job.
The Erasmus + programme makes it possible for Henallux to launch on the labour market young professionals who are more open-minded, more tolerant and more flexible. This programme also reinforces the visibility of our University College in the academic "Pôle Namur and Liège-Luxembourg", in the ‘Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles’ and among our partners from the other Belgian communities and abroad.
