2016 Eramsums+ K103

The University College Henallux has been participating to the Erasmus programme for many years and has now built a large and solid range of partnerships as well inside the EU as in the whole world. By signing the
Erasmus Charter, Henallux has confirmed that its participation to the programme is definitely part of its modernization and internationalization strategies. Thanks to the mobility rate of its students and staff
members and thanks to its participation to European and international cooperation projects, Henallux constanly improves the quality of its own teaching programmes.

Eighty -one students took advantage of a mobility (54 for mobility studies and 27 for placement mobilities). Forty-four are female students and twenty-seven are male students. Fourteen students come from families with social difficulties. The mobilities took place within the whole of Europe but mainly in Finland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Spain and Italy. The choice of those countries can be explained by the large range of courses offered in English as well as for the national culture of the countries, which our students are fond of.

The Henallux strategy shows that some students and staff members look for a complete change of scenery whereas others prefer keeping their landmarks. To cope with these various expectations, Henallux provides the students and staff a very wide range of host institutions and very diverse possibilities in pedagogical, linguistic, cultural, environmental and social fields.

After these exchanges, the students can find solutions in difficult or challenging contexts, plan and carry out their learning independently, plan and organize tasks and activities and see the value of different cultures.
They are also more able to adapt to and act in new situations, more able to cooperate with people from other backgrounds and cultures, more open-minded and curious about new challenges. They know
their strenghs and weaknesses better.

Forty-eight staff members participated in a mobility programme. Eleven staff mobilities and thirty- seven training mobilities. These mobilities enable staff members to experiment and develop new learning practices or teaching methods, to gain sector-specific or practical skills relevant for their current job, increase their social, linguistic and cultural competences, learn from good practices. They also reinforced and extended their professional network and cooperation with the partner institution.

The Erasmus + programme makes it possible for Henallux to launch on the labour market young professionals who are more open-minded, more tolerant and more flexible. This programme also reinforces the visibility of our University College in the two academic hubs (Namur hub and Liège-Luxembourg hub) of the "Fédération Wallonie Bruxelles" and among our partners from the other Belgian communities and abroad.
