2017 Erasmus+ K103
The University College Henallux has been participating to the Erasmus programme for many years and has now built a large and solid range of partnerships as well inside the EU as in the whole world. By signing the Erasmus Charter, Henallux has confirmed that its participation to the programme is definitely part of its modernization and internationalization
strategies. Thanks to the mobility rate of its students and staff members and thanks to its participation to European and international cooperation projects, Henallux constanly improves the quality of its own teaching programmes.
One hundred and one students took advantage of a mobility (81 for studies mobility and 20 for placement mobilities).
Fifty-four are female students and forty-seven are male students. Nine students come from families with social difficulties. The mobilities took place within the whole of Europe but mainly in Finland, United Kingdom, Sweden, France and also in Luxemburg, the Netherlands and Denmark. The choice of those countries can be explained by the wide range of
courses offered in English as well as because of the national culture of the countries, which our students are fond of.
The Henallux strategy shows that some students and staff members look for a complete change of scenery whereas others prefer keeping their landmarks.
To cope with these various expectations, Henallux provides the students and staff with a very wide range of host institutions and very diverse possibilities in pedagogical, linguistic, cultural, environmental and social fields.
After these exchanges, the students are more open-minded and curious about new challenges, can find solutions in difficult or challenging contexts, are more able to cooperate with people from other backgrounds and cultures, more tolerant towards other people’s values and behaviour . They are also more able to adapt to and act in new
situations. They know their strengths and weaknesses better.
Fifty-one staff members participated in a mobility programme. Twenty staff mobilities and thirty-one training mobilities.
These mobilities enable staff members to increase their job satisfaction, to gain sector-specific or practical skills relevant for their current job and professional development, to learn from good practices abroad, to reinforce and extend their professional network or build up new contacts and also to reinforce the cooperation with the partner institution/organization.
The Erasmus + programme makes it possible for Henallux to launch on the labour market young professionals who are more open-minded, more tolerant and more flexible.
This programme also reinforces the visibility of our University College in the two academic hubs (Namur hub and Liège-Luxembourg hub) in the "Fédération Wallonie Bruxelles" and among our partners from the other Belgian communities and abroad.
