2018 Erasmus+ international K107

Rapport Erasmus

Hassan I University (UH1) and University College of Namur-Liège-Luxembourg (Hénallux) have been working together for many years. With their mutual knowledge and driven by their previous work, the two institutions have continued their cooperation on the development of the French language, the promotion of public health and the development of the
individual through physical education and sports.

With the Erasmus International project, our two institutions wanted to
achieve several objectives.

In the pedagogical area, the collaboration aims at raising students' and teachers' awareness of global citizenship and at engaging them in concrete pedagogical approaches to citizenship by integrating the intercultural dimension more into the teaching .

In the health care sector, our aim is to intensify our partnership with the objective of developing a "world citizen" spirit open to cultural differences among future health care workers.

The pandemic did not allow us to organise all the mobilities planned. However, the same objectives were kept by
readjusting our actions.

The mobility of ten students has been organised (MA to BE), five students from the health care area, and five students from the education area : eight girls and two boys.

The project enabled the incoming students to express themselves creatively, cooperate in teams, plan and learn independently, find solutions in difficult contexts, develop their digital skills.

Six staff members mobilities were organised : one staff member (MA to BE) on a training assignment in the field of health; five staff members (BE to MA) in the field of education, two of whom were on a teaching assignment and three on a training assignment. These staff members improved their digital, social and cultural skills. They improved their job satisfaction at work, learned from good practice, acquired sector-specific skills and strengthened collaboration with the project partner.

Besides the mobilities, the project allowed to build a first interdisciplinary collaborative venture, to become aware of the importance of intercultural preparation, to identify new opportunities for collaboration between the ESEFB - Ecole Supérieure de l'Education et de la Formation de Berrechid and the Pedagogical Department of Hénallux.

Moreover, thanks to the project, the UH1 has joined European or international networks of nursing professionals such as SIDIIEF
(International Secretariat of Nurses of the French-speaking world), or FINE (European Federation of Nursing Teachers), thereby allowing further development of international cooperation .

Despite the health crisis and the impossibility of organising mobility to and from Morocco, our partnership has been evaluated and future actions have been planned for the coming years with the 20-22 project.

In addition to the professional and personal development of the students and staff members of the two partner institutions, a whole network of institutional partners and/or professionals in both countries benefit from the spin-off of the projects set up, and, in turn, the local population and professionals. Indeed, the skill development of future and current professionals in terms of discipline, culture and citizenship will benefit the whole community.

The current project is recognised by the Moroccan public and academic authorities as a valuable model project, which is looked upon with great interest by other Moroccan universities.

This visibility also encourages participating members and their academic authorities to implement the project with quality.
